Well, we’ve been talking about it for quite some time now and I must say I am very proud of all of you who have joined me on this journey so far. It is certainly very easy and exciting to talk about raising the bar and leaving mediocre behind, but unfortunately it is entirely another thing to live it.
As I continue to push for change in our channel it is important that I continue to look in the mirror and make sure that we, as an organization are not only talking the talk, but indeed walking the walk.
That’s why I have started what I am calling “Six months to Stellar”. While the definition of “Stellar” can vary from individual to individual, I think the most important part of “Stellar” is the need for a commitment to constant improvement and growth. Six months to Stellar is simply that, allowing everyone in our organization to commit to becoming “Stellar”. Now this commitment is more than words and hollow promises this commitment must also be demonstrated. If you cannot show that you have the ability to become Stellar, that you’re not committed to Stellar, than perhaps you are not in the right industry.
As i have said in the past “It all starts with you!”. So today I am starting with me. I know I have it in me to become Stellar. That doesn’t mean I won’t make mistakes along the way, it doesn’t mean that I won’t drop the ball from time to time but it does mean I am committed to accepting nothing less than Stellar from myself and those around me. From now on everyone in my organization has six months to demonstrate that they have what it takes to become “Stellar”. If you can’t make that commitment then perhaps you should find a different line of work.
Are you committed to becoming Stellar? Does your organization have what it takes to become Stellar? I challenge all of you out there to take the Six months to Stellar challenge. Demand the same from your brokerage, demand the same from your peers. Together we can get there.
